What we do
Here at The Harlem Stories Project, we spend all school year building community with each other in preparation for our mainstage show. Our main stage shows are based off of stories that we gather throughout the year from our participants. See below to explore more of what The Harlem Stories Project is about.
After school program
We are an after school program that builds ensemble through improvisation, acting, screen writing, and play!
Original Theater
We create original theater out of the stories of our neighborhood, West Harlem. Our ensemble members excavate stories for moving themes we want to put into productions.
HarlemQuest
In May 2024, we performed our first ever mainstage show, HarlemQuest. HarlemQuest is a fictional video game about our very own neighborhood, Harlem, filled with NPCS based on real Harlem residents. In the show, our Trusty Sidekick has to navigate through the levels of Harlem to find the missing Main Character.
